Darker Depths is kind of a mess

The Glowshroom Biome added by Darker Depths seems to spawn in seriously excessive amounts, and the Glowshroom Monster it adds has insane health, damage, and speed, while also being practically silent until it's attacking. This thing is super balance-breaking, like, me and my partner have full Steel armour and Steel swords and that thing is still consistently 3-shotting us in seconds from behind if we don't have superhuman shield reflexes. They also seem to ALWAYS drop a Glowshroom Cap which is an unstackable hat with no other uses aside from being worn, which is very annoying.
The mod doesn't have an issues page or github (of course) and there's no config options to alter the spawn chance of the monster or its stats (of course) so I was hoping there was some magic that could be done in future versions of the modpack to make it less extreme. I looked into Bad Mobs and InControl mods, but both look pretty complicated to get set up and I'm worried if I tried it myself I would break something.
Honestly, I would reccommend the mod being removed from the pack in future versions if it wouldn't be so destructive due to all the annoying Grimestone, as there's zero integration for most of its items it seems; all the glowshroom foliage is useless, the mob adds nothing except suffering when trying to cave early-mid-game with basically no counter except luck or a lot of arrows and cheese tactics, and its stone can't even be used in a lot of recipes needing "any stone type" or to repair stone tinker tools. Haven't even encountered its other biomes yet despite doing a lot of caving.
