Crashes on startup

Modpack Version:
1.1.2

After clicking play on the Minecraft Launcher, the "preparing" loading bar appears at the bottom for a couple of seconds then it crashes and a message appears about maybe being caused by an invalid Java Runtime config? Also gives me an exit code.

These are what are in that folder for me, not the client one. I did what you suggested and deleted the two existing ones anyway. It redownloaded them on launch then started to work but crashed again. Same reason.

Hey there. Could you please attach the full crash report and latest log file if there is one?

latest copy.log

The second file was created when it crashed I hope that's what you were looking for.

Deleting and reinstalling the pack also did not work.

I installed vanilla 1.16.5 on my normal, not curseforge launcher and it works perfectly fine , but it still shows in the log for the pack that it can't find "Minecraft resource version 1.16.5-20210115.111550" in the folder it's trying to access. It also displays the same message as before about the Java Runtime error

Ok, next thing to try... Exit it if the CurseForge launcher, then find and delete this file:

/Users/(your username)/Documents/curseforge/minecraft/Install/libraries/net/minecraftforge/forge/1.16.5-36.2.26/forge-1.16.5-36.2.26-client.jar

Then reload CurseForge and try run the pack. It should download that file again and hopefully this time it'll behave

Here's the full log that I enabled Curseforge to do for crashes. It still says it's missing the 1.16.5 Minecraft resource and the client java files. Not sure what to do about that because I installed vanilla 1.16.5 through the vanilla launcher and have the latest version of java downloaded.

Ok - next place to check is /Users/(yourusername)/Documents/curseforge/minecraft/Install/libraries/net/minecraft/client/1.16.5-20210115.111550 - does this folder exist? If it does, try deleting it (or renaming it if you're worried about it) and then start up the curseforge launcher and the pack again. Hopefully that'll download the missing Minecraft installer assets correctly.

If that still doesn't work, then try and repair the instance...

... and if that still doesn't work, then I'm at a bit of a loss. It seems like the curseforge launcher hasn't downloaded the Minecraft installer assets correctly which is why it is not starting up properly - no idea why this is being a problem for you :-(

So when I repaired it, after I pressed play again it shows up this and is stuck on it

This has been something that has been happening when I try to load the pack where it gets stuck and won't let me cancel and it doesn't load the "My Modpacks" and I have to restart Curseforge. Every time I load the pack it says that it's installing that forge file. Not sure if any of that would be the problem?

Honestly, if there's nothing else you can think of that's totally okay because you've been such a big help and I appreciate you taking the time to assist in my troubleshooting. If nothing else, I would totally be cool with just waiting for the next version of the pack to come out (assuming that there will be one and that it would magically work somehow haha) because it looks super fun.

Yeah, I can't think of anything else to try off-hand. When I release another version of the pack (which might be a while unfortunately) then it might be worth trying again.

Sorry!
