Can't find any Applied Energistics 2 meteorites

I'm on version 2.4.0 of Divine Journey 2 and I can't seem to find any meteorites in the overworld. I have traveled 6000 blocks and my meteorite compass hasn't sensed anything. Is this issue only on my end or is this a known issue?
