Note:this also happens with coal

somewhat related: you can also dupe blaze/blizz/basalz/blitz with a sag mill/compactor loop by using a grinding ball with >125% main output (such as melodic, which you can afford by the time you need large enough quantities)

or at least you could in like 2.4, idk if it's been fixed since then

For the rods you get more powder than needed to compact back to rods. So yes that's a "dupe"
I don't think this should be changed

I don't really think that this is an exploit really... Sure, it dupes the coal, but that process is really slow. And no other expert pack I played before ever "fixed" it. The amount of extra coal you get is way too little to make it worthwhile.
In other packs I used the fact that you can make coal out of coal dust for a very early suflur automation.
So I would not say that this is a bug since both machines are just doing what they normally do.
And the thermal elemental rods are not really duped, are they? I would rather say that this is a very early and limited form of EMC since you use up one material to get more of the other.

Since the process also uses Ginding Ball durability, I would just consider this as "transforming the material the Grinding Ball was made out of into other materials", which isn't really duplicating.
