Why would you like the mod added?

Swapping Sodium to Embeddium fixes a bunch of graphical issues in Pneumaticraft. There may be more mods that this fixes but that is what I have tested so far.

We'll consider it.

We're going to stick with Sodium to support the original author. Thanks for the suggestion anyway ๐Ÿ‘

Fair Enough. Then I would suggest updating Iris and playing around with the new configs that were implemented. In theory you can turn off the shaders for the specific mods that are affected. This should also fix the issues but will take more configuration on your end.

Monocle actually released??? I thought it'd never escape license hell. Nice to see embeddium is being maintained still too.

I'd be in favour of this.

Glad to hear you considered it. While I respect the desire to support original authors, I feel I should note some concerns about documented patterns of community harassment and toxic behavior associated with this project's leadership that have negatively impacted multiple mod developers and caused at least one to step back from their own project. If you're not already aware of these issues, they may be worth considering in your decision-making process. I'd encourage you to ask around within modding circles about these concerns if you'd like more specific information.

I do recall some (but not all) of these issues being discussed in the e10 discord channel for a bit tbf.

If you ask me, monocle + embeddium is the way to go - though needing iris because oculus has died is a shame.

I'm torn to be honest.

  • I prefer supporting the original authors of a mod if possible.
  • I do not want to support developers exhibiting toxic behaviour.
  • I want our users to have the performance improvements available to them, and give them easy access to shaders.

I'll sleep on it, and hopefully come to a decision tomorrow.
