Thank you for the report, I will investigate the issue.

As a temporary solution, you should be able to chisel it into another variant, and craft that into Coal Coke.

It seems fine to me in a way - as you can see here, Immersive Engineering coal coke (the kind created by default by every machine listed in JEI) can be uncrafted whenever.

However, if you uncompress then recompress it, it turns into Thermal Foundation coal coke, which can't be uncrafted again.

It can still be used for everything the IE coal coke block can be used for except for turning back to coal coke (item, as opposed to block).

Seems like it's just an oversight in the script for crafting, no biggie.

The issue was I crafted a coal coke block for storage, not straight from the coke oven.
