Neptune's Bounty doesn't seem to exist, and if it does it's not gatherable through Marine Fishers

Modpack Version

0.5.11

Describe your issue.

We've been trying to get hold of some Neptunium, but there doesn't seem to be any way of actually gathering it except for occasionally finding it in chests.

Anecdotally, none of us have had any luck from manual fishing after quite a lot of effort, and I filled three diamond chests using Industrial Foregoing's marine fishers without a single Neptune's Bounty drop.

As such, either Neptunium is bugged, we're doing something wrong, or we've been improbably unlucky. I have no idea which (there's not quest of book for Aquaculture 2, so it's hard to know), but I thought it worth bringing up.

I have also been trying to get Neptune's Bounty for the past 5 days - I've tried fishing in every biome, including oceans and rivers, with rods from the Aquaculture mod. I've used Iron and Diamond rods with no enchants, with some enchants, and with all enchants, and after 4 days of afk fish farming, I haven't gotten a single one.

I've gotten a few pretty quickly, but that was quite a few versions ago. I had Luck II, a Diamond Fishing Rod, a Diamond Hook, and Botania's Marine Allure brew as well as high Lure and Luck of the Sea enchantments on the fishing rod. Some bait could be used too. I fished in a river biome.

Since I believe that Neptune's Bounty are considered Treasure, you will have to fish in an area that is eligible for Treasure by Minecraft's standards. Depending on how your AFK fish farm is set up, you may be entirely ineligible for treasure loot tables in the first place. Try fishing in open water perhaps?

Mojang made a ton of changes to intentionally nerf the hell out of AFK fish farms. One of those changes was to remove treasure loot if the body of water you're fishing in is too small.

Neptune's Bounty is treasure loot.

I just went out with the following:

  • Diamond Fishing rod with Nether Star hook
    • Luck of the Sea III
    • Lure III
  • Allure from Botania
  • Treble Hooks trinket

I got a Neptune's bounty in about 5 minutes. So it's certainly still available. My last actual play through I sat and fished for about an hour and got the full set of armor and tools without much issue (other than that dang zombie that kept trying to turn me into a kebob).

Obtaining this isn't meant to be AFKable or automatable. You're meant to go out and fish for yourself.

Neptune's bounty is meant to only be obtainable through manual fishing and progression in the aquaculture mod

Additionally, you'll only get it from ocean and river biomes. Can you try fishing there manually? Making an enchanted aquaculture pole with some bait and a hook will help a lot.
