Apparently there are two different types of Crude Oil obtainable in the game. The Crude Oil from Pneumaticraft seems to be what you find in pools as part of world spawn. However the Astral Sorcery Neromantic Prime pulls out Immersive Petroleum Crude Oil. They store as entirely different fluids in Refined Storage.
The quest for a supreme big hole tank full of oil makes no indication which mod's oil it's looking for.
