Building with carrots

Describe your issue.
if you hold carrots (or potatoes) in your off hand and behind you is a block at head height and you try to eat, you will "hit" the wood behind you & a building placement sound will play, before the actual eating animation starts.
noticed when i was leading animals across the map and wanted a bite of a carrot while up against a tree trunk:
