Why would you like the mod added?

It's a much better alternative to Iron chests. Barrels are preferred by most people over chests. Also the barrels look much better than chests. Please consider.

I honestly don't see any point in replacing Iron Chests with Iron Barrels as they both serve the exact same function. The only difference is that Barrels are a full block. Some people don't like chests, and some people don't like barrels.
I think solving this issue by replacing 1 mod over the other is just redundant, and a better solution would be for people to find creative ways to hide the chests if they don't like the way they look, and for those that do like chests, well it's a win/win situation.

There is also the issue of losing stored items if change Iron Chests with Iron Barrels. Even if a note was to be included in the patch notes, some people will miss it, and those that don't will probably not update because it's too much unnecessary work to empty all your current Iron Chests before updating.

The only valid option would be to add both, but at this point, that would be duplicated content, especially when like I said, an easier solution would be to hide your chests if they are not something you want to see around your base. A basement somewhere with an access point like Pretty Pipes would easily solve this.

Of course, this is just my personal opinion.

I'm not suggesting you remove iron chests. I'm suggesting that you add Metal barrels as a option since many people do prefer either and would like to have options

We already have a good amount of storage options, I see no need for this I'm afraid.
