Losing Lost Trinkets

Describe your issue.
It seems that occasionally I will unlock a trinket I have already, and when I go to check the trinket tabs there are several missing, for instance I had all 5 pieces of the heart, unlocked part 3 (again) now I have 2 pieces of heart and my magnet is gone as well. Is there a way to lose trinkets or is this a bug?
