You need overworld oak for the functional storage mod, i.e. drawers. The only way to get it currently is from the cloud islands with a giant pickaxe.

Not true by any means. You can make drawers out of any vanilla wood type, and you can find oak, spruce, and birch in the twilight forest easily. You can alternatively make framed drawers out of any wood type (including modded wood), period.
The only way to get it currently is from the cloud islands with a giant pickaxe.
This is not true. Oak wood spawns in the dark forest biome regularly. Spruce spawns in the highlands, and birch spawns in the generic "twilight forest" biome.
