Game freezing on multiplayer

Describe the bug

Hello! Fabulously Optimized (either the configs, or the mods) are affecting the games performance in servers, freezing for about 20 seconds, going back to normal for a minute, then freezing again.

Then after 2 or 3 cycles of this, the game crashes without going back to normal.

Single-player performance seems to be normal, no freezing, but i have experienced chunks loading really slow.

I have tried Chronos Client 0.1.0 Plus, and it doesn't have the issues shown on FO.

Modpack version

The version is FO 4.2.1, but it continues in FO 4.3.0

Launcher

MultiMC

Other things

  • I updated FO to a newer version (from FO 4.2.1 to FO 4.3.0)
  • I added/removed some mods or resource packs (mention, which ones)

Additional context

Although I specified i use MultiMC, I'm actually using a fork of it, namely PolyMC (1.4.2).

My specs are:

  • Zotac Gaming GTX 970
  • I5 3470
  • 8 GB DDR3 1600mhz (dual channel)
  • 240 GB SSD
  • Windows 10 Pro 21H1 19044.1889
  • Adoptium Java JDK 17.0.4.1-1 LTS

Try replacing Hold That Chunk with Farsight.

U

Try replacing Hold That Chunk with Farsight.

Understood, will that fix the singleplayer problem?

commented

Hmm... maybe replace Starlight with Phosphor for singleplayer... or try adjusting chunk options in video settings.

I think a log would be really helpful for debugging @thatshadycodeboi

Can you send us your PolyMC log, please? Make sure to censor everything private, e.g. if you use your real name as your computer name.
You can also post the log in https://mclo.gs/ and send us the MCLogs link if you want to.

You only need to censor it if it contains private information you don't want to be seen, of course.

Some have their real name as their PC username.

Should be fixed in 4.3.3. Related: #457
