What it does

Implements custom skyboxes, similar to Optifine!

Why should it be in the modpack

Optifine parity

Why shouldn't it be in the modpack

Does not support Optifine skybox resource packs (unless #106), Still don't have many skyboxes resource packs

It's a nice looking addition, I don't think it's useless.

Oh, it's not useless, it's probably even usable with the converter right now.

The issue is rather the sustainability (update speed, Modrinth-only) and the point that including the converter itself would have a lot of drawbacks at the moment (see #106). Maybe eventually....

The mod seems to be up to date in Modrinth at the moment so I guess people can test this now with #106 and see if it's really worth it.

There's a PR for the CurseForge releases, using mc-publish

I tested FSB with a pack that needed MCPP++ to replicate OptiFine’s behavior (with the Navila Sky Pack), but the game crashed (report on AMereBagatelle/fabricskyboxes#39) I hadn't convert the pack as it seems-

The CurseForge auto publish PR just got merged

Added in 4.5.0.

I was going to say no because I've avoided mods that provide Optifine-like features with a different format so far (can't expect the RP makers to use the new formats) but then I found out about #73, so I'll consider this eventually.

Edit: the author claims there will be no updates on CF, so maybe I cannot use it after all
Edit 2: so far Modrinth mods have been accepted, e.g. Sodium, so I'll try when it gets possible to use
