Right now the aforementioned fork seems to be "for personal use", so maybe it hasn't tested enough use cases. Additionally, including such forks on CurseForge is hard, so maybe the author will consider making an actual project at least there.

Will see for a few weeks how things progress and maybe contact the dev.
