Your Pack Version

2.7.0

Your Proposal

Add a warning on singleblocks when user is trying to perform a recipe at too low of an energy tier.

Your Goal

People often do not realize why they cannot do these recipes, especially MV recipes in extruder. While this is clarified in NEI, it would be nice to offer this information in the machine ui too.

Your Vision

More clarity and consistency (Steam singleblocks get warnings for not enough steam, multiblocks get a "not enough energy" warning in the ui).

Final Checklist

  • I have searched this issue tracker and there is nothing similar already. Posting on a closed issue saying I like this feature please reconsider adding it will prompt us to investigate and reopen it once we confirm your report.
  • I believe there is nothing similar in the pack already, or the existing solution isn't good enough.
  • I understand this change request may not attract enough attention and thus not be implemented.
  • I understand this change request may be rejected due to other community members thinking it's inappropriate.
  • I believe this feature would make the pack better.

This feels less about consistency as the "not enough steam/energy" warnings just explain why a recipe was reset/cancelled due to lack of resources, and more about better communicating why a machine cannot find a recipe given the current inputs. I don't think any machine currently does that, though multiblocks do now state that they're inactive due to a lack of matching recipe.

This could be expanded to include other reasons for why a machine isn't processing its inputs, like lack of cleanroom if required.

For steam, that's true. Multiblocks do give you a not enough energy warning though - not referring to the crash. Looks like this

This would be great, yeah.
