Your Expectation
Adv solar boiler do not explode after logging in.
The Reality
up on loggin in after several hours and a server restart my adv solar boilers exploded from adding water while hot (expected).
how ever all the machines, water tank and solar boilers, are in one chuunk that is not loaded (forced or via anchor) or has a loaded chunk next to it.
The boiler are attachted to the water tanks with no pipes in between them. See screenshots
From some testing with the server owner we saw a massive water drain on the tank when logging in. This tells that the boilers are or nearly empty of water (not expected). The rain tank can produce enough water to keep the boilers going forever.
If need be there is a save file available for review.
Speculation
We susprect that the boilers may be ticking while the water tanks do not/dont push water.

Final Checklist
- I have searched this issue tracker and there is nothing similar already. Posting on a closed issue saying the bug still exists will prompt us to investigate and reopen it once we confirm your report.
- I can reproduce this problem consistently by follow the exact steps I described above, or this does not need reproducing, e.g. recipe loophole.
- I have asked other people and they confirm they also have this problem by follow the exact steps I described above, or this does not need reproducing, e.g. recipe loophole.
Just had another one blow up, that shouldn't be able to.
There is a single RC water tank open to sky, directly adjacent to a simple solar boiler, whose output goes by pipe into an RC tank for steam. This chunk is loaded via SU.
In an 80% humid biome, this should have had excess water forever. Instead it exploded on login after server restart.

Restoring the region file shows everything in good order. The tank completely full of 400 buckets of water, etc.
Confirmed in explosion log:
Boiler boiler.solar had no Water! Machine at 1166 | 78 | 2484 DIMID: 0 exploded.
That sounds like the boiler was ticking when the tank couldn't?
Interesting that it didn't explode until the player logged in, inside a chunk loaded chunk!
Server is Java 8, just using Forge as shipped with GTNH. No exotic servers (Cauldron, Paper, Spigot, Bukkit, etc).
What happened:
- Logged in, boilers blew up moments later
- Server operator stopped server and restored region file to overnight backup
- Server started, and the boilers were rapidly filling up like they were empty
- Server restarted, boilers stayed full
- Server restored again, boilers were empty
Tank and 3 advanced solar boilers all in the same chunk. Outputs set to pipe correctly. Tank is directly adjacent to 3 boilers. Running fine normally.
Not chunk loaded. SU chunk load of 1 chunk 3 chunks away without shared piping. This chunk should be idle.
My suspicion is that for some reason the ASB keeps ticking when it should not, and the RC tank doesn't tick and so it runs out of water.
I have been observing that my Adv Solar Boilers need to be replaced daily because of calcification
