Inventory rollback after manually opening it

Your Expectation
When I move items in my inventory (opened by pressing e) I expect items to remain where I moved them.
The Reality
My inventory "rollback" to how it was before when I open a machine gui / backpack.
Futhermore if a tool like a shovel was moved in the hotbar and I try to use it, the mined block is visibly mined but it is still present when I try to move to where it was.
Your Proposal
Fixing it ? (if it is not due to something on my end)
