Your Proposal

If you want to scan an item to duplicate in an Elemental Duplicator, you have to scan the item to a data orb. The only way to currently do so is to make a single-block scanner. Now that the Research Station has the scanner functionality, allowing the multiblock to do the data orb scanning would be beneficial.

Your Goal

Using the Elemental Duplicator is a good way to make lots of Oganesson and Californium at the cost of UU Matter in the endgame to remove some of the bottlenecks on your fusion array. This would improve that functionality by allowing the player to use the research station instead of having to make a single block scanner for data orbs (when the change for the research station was so that players didn't have to have a UEV/UIV scanner anymore)
