Bug Description

Did this behavior use to work in the previous version?

I am unable to access a previous version to test this.

Steps to Reproduce (for bugs)

1.Place an oak sapling on a grass block, surrounded by 8 gold blocks like the tooltip describes.
2. Try using bone meal/wait for days
3. Even with bone meal or increased tick speed it never grows...
