The empowerer has a power input limit on the display stands, making it an out-of-place time gate for crafting empowered blocks versus just using Extended Crafting's much more capable crafting core.

If anything you don't even have to delete the old recipes, just provide a non-time gate method for the empowerer recipes, such as additional ones in the crafting core.
