We already have Patchouli in the pack since a few mods depend on it.

I believe it would be very well worth it to utilize it to integrate the omnicompendium into the pack, considering how much features, bells and whistles it provides. Patchouli books can also contain images, screenshots and even multiblock previews for all different purposes, so in my opinion it's better than BQ for writing tips, hints and guides.

Just wanted to note (for me to remember) that Spider was working on formatting the community guides from Markdown to something that would work with Patchouli.

Ran into a couple of problems while trying to implement this. The most important being the very low image resolution (200x200) in Patchouli books, making things like the Polymer Clay flowchart and Rocket Fuel diagram unreadable.

One solution would be to leave those out and put a link to the appropriate github page in the book. Another one would be to try and split those diagrams into multiple smaller images (Patchouli does support image galleries where you can click through the different images). I'm not sure either of these is a good idea.

Any suggestions?

One problem is that Patchouli books have to be included in the modpack's files, which means if the compendium is updated, guidebook users will only get that with the next pack update. On the other hand, only major updates like 1.3 will require serious rewrites of the compendium...
