There should be a crafting recipe to not force the player to leave his comfort zone.

I second this. The chorus flower is the only item that forces you to go in the end.

The soul vial proposal

Endermite Soul Vial + Apple --> Chorus Flower (ValaheilX's idea) plus
Four Ender Pearls + Soul Vial --> Endermite Soul Vial (PhoReaper's idea)

Seems to make the most sense; how does "Endermite is out of the question, not obtainable in peaceful" make sense if there's a crafting recipe provided? Craftable soul vials of hostile mobs are used in other recipes too. Also, using a dragon egg to make chorus fruit doesn't make much logical sense.

The approach I am currently considering is a quest reward of some chorus flowers if the player opts for the "tech" route (EIO teleporter). If you make the flowers craftable, even if it's terribly suboptimal and silly, players will still insist on doing it that way rather than the intended route of growing them. This also incentivizes players to go for what is currently an immensely underutilized route.

Well, unless we made a crafting recipe for its vial I guess. In any event, yes we'll have to think on an appropriate mechanism. The risk of adding a crafting recipe is that unless it's clearly inferior to the alternative, people will opt for crafting them rather than growing them.

I've just had another thought. In vanilla, you kill the ender dragon which drops a dragon egg, then go get your first chorus flower afterwards. In Omnifactory, if you want to grow chorus flowers inside a machine, it requires phyto-gro. If we put these ideas together, we get:

Chemical reactor: dragon egg + fluxed phyto-gro -> chorus flower.

If you don't go to the end, this places it just after the tier six micro vessel, but before the tier seven micro vessel which needs it.
