Title. Information has come to my attention that this is not a forge bug, but a mod interaction bug. Needs testing to figure out what is causing it and why.

As one of the helpful members on the Discord has found, the Caves and Cliffs backport broke the click handling. Short of a custom coremod, I don't believe this is fixable. Not closing the issue until final investigations are made.
