It may not be obvious to players where steel comes from. Players familiar with blast furnaces may immediately look to how to make steel, and may forget that they can actually harvest it.

I've noticed that the more quests are available in a chapter, the less likely players are to notice the ones relevant to them. It should seem straightforward that if one needs and or glass or steel, one should go consult the resources tab to figure out how to get it-but that isn't what happens. The chapters that are supposed to supply reference information seem to get overlooked the most, regrettably including when people need reference information.

A few things I can do:

1. I can improve the fire stone quest to explain where steel comes from.
2. I can include all the details like how to get cinnabar dust (forage or beating up Pokemon) and mana powder.
3. I can add an auxiliary 'get steel rod' quest
4. I can increase the number of metals that can be made into rods and used for this quest.
5. I can change the quests to get molten steel into a recipe for molten steel, to be made in a ceramic bucket; that makes it visible in the JEI.

Another thing I need to consider is this:
The fire stone tools are gated by Botania. And it's a pretty arbitrary gate. But it's there to make you explore Botania and gather up your mushrooms.

If I want players to be able to skip this, I can make it possible to drop mana powder. Of course I'd want to make it drop from something hard to spawn, like Haterenne or Gothitelle.

Alternatively, I can make it possible to drop black lotuses so the player only has to get to the pure daisy, not the whole productive flower setup.

I can also make it so that after Botania opens up, the Nether quests also appear, so it's more like the nether is equally linked to both of them.

Has been at least partially resolved by improving the quests involved.
