Describe the bug

You can freely use the ice crystal without consuming durability temporarily if you have both:

• An item that opens a gui by right-clicking while holding it.
  (Works with baskets.)
  (Does not work with portable crafting mat.)
• An Ice crystal.

To Reproduce

To replicate, hold an ice crystal in your off hand, and a wicker basket in your main hand.
Then right click.

Voila! Your ice crystal is now in a bugged state temporarily that uses it's ability without consuming durability.
You can then reset it by right-clicking while not holding a basket, then re-swapping to the basket to re-bugify it.

Expected behavior

It doesn't use the ice crystal ability, and instead only opens the basket.
(Alternatively, just cancels the event entirely. Don't try to open the basket while holding an ice crystal.)
