Trying to repair a mythril shield in the anvil consumes the mythril to repair but the durability bar stays the same

Just tested in singleplayer and is functioning as I would expect it to. I took durability down to 1990 then placed the mythril shield and a mythril ingot into anvil and it fully repaired it.
