Context

Buffalo teeth have a decent drop rate, and anyone who farms them is going to end up with a significant excess clogging up their chests. However, after crafting the only wooden gear you need in Age 0, the recipe for gears becomes much easier and buffalo teeth lose their use.

Perhaps a recipe to grind/mill/crush them down into bonemeal is in order, or something similar? Shark teeth already have this property.
