Server crashes because of an entity colliding with a block

Bug Report
Exactly what it says on the tin. The world continues to crash when any player enters a specific area. Anyone on the server NOT in the affected area is totally fine. But upon entering where the issue is located, the person in question will be kicked and the entire world will crash and restart.
I do possess several crash reports, and, having gone through them myself, it appears the error is occurring due to a vanilla torch, and a PrimalCore barrel, occupying the same square.
Expected Behaviour
I mean, this isn't really supposed to happen at all.
Possible Solution
I have attempted many, many approaches to fix this;
-The /fill command on the block in question to replace it with air, in many permutations.
-The /kill @e[type=item] command, or even specifying the object(s) in question
They all lead to the same issue. The chunk MUST be loaded, to apply this command. If I load in to the game, thus loading the chunk, it causes it to crash. And this modpack is far too large for me to be able to get the commands in via the text chat before I crash. Instead I'm repeatedly using the web console to spam out the command in the vain hope it gets through.
