Water is more transparent than in beta 1.7.3, and there were no underwater particles

I cannot change the fog amount underwater with a resource pack. The different you are perceiving as an opacity difference is actually a lighting difference between Beta 1.7.3 and modern.

I can get rid of the particles however.
