Chat is permanently flooded after using "/trigger tschipcraft.menu" in 1.20.6 or below

Describe the bug
I used the trigger command to pop up the menu and it popped up. Every tick. I essentially have no chat anymore because the instant a chat message comes in it's gone and overwritten by all the popups before I can read it. Relogging doesn't fix the issue either, and it doesn't affect other server members. All dialogue options on the menu are either broken or require OP status (which may be intentional but I thought I'd list it just in case it isn't). Minecraft version is 1.20.1 and Datapack version is 1.8.4.
Steps to reproduce
Use "/trigger tschipcraft.menu"
Expected behavior
Only one dialogue popup per time running the command.
Additional context
No response
Thank you for the report. I'm not sure what could be causing this. Could you please attach the server log (e.g. using mclo.gs)?
A quick fix should be to run /scoreboard players reset @s tschipcraft.menu
. You need OP for this command. Alternatively, replace @s
with your in-game player name and run it from the server console (without the /
)
If that doesn't work, you could try /scoreboard objectives remove tschipcraft.menu
I don't have access to the server log unfortunately as I'm not the server owner and the server owner is out of town. I might be able to ask them for a copy of it once they get back
Any updates on this @MrStorm500?
Hi! I'm having this issue too, and I can confirm that the /scoreboard players reset @s tschipcraft.menu
command did not have any effect! I'm on 1.20.1 and using mod version 1.8.5 (though I'm not sure if I had OP now that I'm thinking about it...)
I'm not sure what part of the log I should be sending, and don't think it's a great idea to send a whole log file.
Hi, if you didn't get an error when you ran the command, you had OP. By the looks of things, the command didn't help though.
Please go ahead and attach the entire log file. I need it to understand what's going on and contains important debug information about what the game is doing, including warnings and errors. It also allows me to quickly recreate your environment, as it includes what versions and other mods you used.
When using a dedicated log-sharing service like mclo.gs, any information that could be considered sensitive, such as your computer username, is also anonymized like this: C:\Users\User\ -> C:\Users\******\
You can find the log in .minecraft/logs/latest.log. If you are running a server, use the log from the server directory (also in /logs/)
Thank you, I am able to replicate the bug. I'm still not sure what the cause is though, I'll have to investigate
I'll be honest, if there was an error, I couldn't see it at all. After loading up a new world with OP and trying the scoreboard command you sent, it does appear to be working.
Anyway, here's the log from that instance.
