Incompatibility with modern versions of minecraft

The resource pack does not work at all in 1.20.2. It used to work fine in 1.20.1 but in 1.20.2, it doesn't even show up in the resource packs menu. This happens in vanilla Minecraft even and I installed it by just using git clone in my resource packs folder. I am using Windows 11.
I should probably add that the only way I can get it to work in 1.20.2 is to download the zip from the releases page. Even if I zip the repository, it still doesn't show up in Minecraft.
It works fine for me on 1.20.2, even the really old versions of this pack that i still have. they all work on 1.20.4 as well. latest git works too. do other resource packs have issues for you as well?

also you need to unzip the repository to use it. downloading it from github makes a zip folder with a folder in it that then has the resource pack files. that wont show up in minecraft

The downloaded repository was unzipped. I simply used git clone.
do your resource pack folders look normal? i cant think of any reason why you would have an issue like this unless somethings wrong with your game given that the resource pack does work on latest version of mc.
