Some spells cast a area effect that has a duration but no aura to track it. Would having a BuffTimer sort of helper were one could specify a time to count down from button press something beyond the scope of this addon?

Disc Priest Power Word: Barrier, Paladin's Light's Hammer, Death knight's Anti Magic Zone, mostly cds that put "objects" in the world tend to do this, there's also the case of pet tied benefits like shadowfiend but that would be a separate issue of having a rule to bind auras with a pet's life/duration.

Well, I understand the idea, but there is really nothing that can be used after the initial cast to ensure this is still working. Auras, health, power, totems and even spellcasting have API to check their status at any moment. I am going to think about it.
