What version(s) of WoW are you using?
Retail
What problem are you experiencing that led to you asking for this feature?
Kind of related to #1564
Auctionator or Addons like CraftSim often indicates that an item can be produced at a profit. Which is not the case. The reason is that an ingredient is offered by auction house scammers in very small quantities at a massively low price, in the hope that someone will be stupid enough to list their ingredients at this price (or automatically list them with tools that are not intelligent enough), in order to buy these cheap ingredients back and sell them at the usual price for a profit. Since Auctionator / CraftSim takes this extremely low price into account, the calculation is no longer correct and you will produce the items in fact with a loss. In additiopn, every list etc shows extremely low prices that are just a scam. Because these extremely cheap ingredients are of course never available for sale (because alred sold), and if they are, then not in sufficient quantities.
What solution would you like?
I therefore suggest implementing a function that should use the average of, for example, the cheapest 50 pieces (x) of an ingredient as the purchase price when calculating the production costs, and exclude the cheapest 20% (y) and the most expensive 20% (z) of these 50 pieces. Or in short: I suggest to store a mean price instead of the lowest.
x, y, z should be configurable, and of course the whole function should be able to be activated or deactivated. This would result in a more reliable calculation of production costs and profit.
Any alternatives you can think of?
Make blizz bann these scammers ;)
Anything else?
Thank you very much!
