One of the really great things about this addon is the very good Item Type (Enhanced) sorting and the ability to choose from several other sorting methods.

In practice, I think everyone will use the Item Type (Enhanced) sort by default.

The other sorting methods are occasionally useful, but not really useful for "everyday sorting".

For example, the Expansion sort is extremely useful for getting a visual overview of how many reagents you have hoarded from which expansion. But after that, you will most likely reset your sorting method to Item Type (Enhanced).

To really take advantage of this great feature, the sorting methods should be easily accessible. Having to go to the settings, set a method, do the sort, go back to the settings and reset the method is way too cumbersome.

In my local copy of Baganator I have mapped the sorting methods to modifier key states when clicking the button:

And this makes the whole thing so much more convenient 😚

I propose to implement something like that, or even better:

A drop-down menu when Alt-clicking the Sort button:

• The drop-down lets you select from all sort methods, without changing your default sort method.

An unmodified click on the sort button just executes the sort as set in the settings.

Today I discovered that the Item Type (Basic) sort method sorts armor by armor type (Plate, Mail, Leather, Cloth) with priority, which is exactly the right thing to do when I have purchased transmogs on my AH toon and then want to mail-distribute them to four of my normal toons.

Unfortunately, this meant that I had to extend my modifier key mapping to modifier combos, since I only have 4 simple modifier keys.

I mention this to emphasize that a drop-down menu to select a temporary sorting method would indeed be a better solution.

Actually there's an even better solution, search "cloth&boe" and then click the "Transfer" button when the send mail interface is open. That will attach all the cloth that's boe to the mail without needing to sort it.

I haven't decided about the dropdown menu yet.

You can then search weapon&boe and click the button again to attach the weapons with them.

Thanks, that's also a possibility. But I prefer the sorting approach (I think), because in the same turn I'll send the weapon purchases to the appropriate toon. (If items are dimmed due to searching, this becomes more difficult.)
