This is not a bug, it's a QoL suggestion:

When playing an hybrid class my bags normally look like this.
Please add the option to ignore certain bags (1-5) so the sort function will ignore them and not mess around with offspecc gear for example or warlock soulshards.

It would be great if this could be added for Classic/BCC. I would like to be able to store all my soul shards in the left-most bag without having to use a shard bag in that spot.

IIRC if you right click a bag, you can set it to a specific sort type or to ignore the bag completely.
