Is this still even possible? Today I tried manually running

/run ChatFrame1:SetFading(false)

and it did nothing.

Any update on this? I can't seem to get the chat text fade to stop either.

This seems to be in reference to the fading of chat text itself, as text gets old. Not the fading of the border/frame/art, which is instant due to the fade module.
