CraftSim causes a lot of lag and or freezes on certain recipes for me, specifically everything that uses a high amount of materials like leatherworking gear with 150 leather or scales and the potion cauldron of ultimate power from alchemy that needs 150 potions. Probably not that easy to fix but wanted to have it documented here

Used this addon to verify it's actually CraftSim causing the lag

as a workaround you can favorite something that does not have a lot of mats or something where material optimization doesn't run at all like illustrious insight. this moves it to the top of the list so that the first recipe selected is that favorite instead of, in your case, life-bound bindings.

Uh, this isn't the top of my list, I'm scrolled down quite a bit, but yes that would be a possible workaround should you be in that situation.
