As I've just suggested on discord, it would be great to have a way to conveniently add patron work orders to the queue so I can go and fetch the mats / see how much every one costs.

I imagine it like this (included a few ideas):
Image one is a queue all button on the workorder tab
Image two is a queue this order button on the specific order
Image 3 is the normal craftqueue window showing on the workorder tab with an extra button to add the open order

Slightly non-obvious consideration: since Work Orders have a specific target quality, there's probably a use case to pull some of the Reachable Quality code from Material Optimization but force it to minimize mats cost for the given quality - but also could be meaty enough to be a separate feature request (a more generic 'target quality' for Material Optimization).
