I wonder if price overrides could be set by using TSM strings, like smartAvgBuy, dbRecent and whatnot next to normal 100g 10s 1c format

That is an interesting idea indeed I have my own custom TSM custom values that I use for crafting reagent and crafted Item price.
Being able to specify a TSM expression for price overrides could allow a lot of tweaks in specific cases.
