Host the addon outside of CurseForge

As CurseForge is locking out everyone except Overwolf's own addon manager (source: https://www.wowhead.com/news/ads-revenue-and-api-wowup-and-overwolf-split-over-addon-development-325912), please host this addon elsewhere than CurseForge (at least co-host it elsewhere). Options include:
- Hosting a .zip file of the addon here in the GitHub repository (this allows WowUp to pull it down)
- Hosting it on WowUpHub website
- Hosting it on wago.io (allows monetization to continue, if that is a concern)
- Hosting it on TukUI
- Hosting it on WowInterface
I am personally using WowUp to update addons, and while I very much respect that some addon creators want their work monetized, and believe that they should have the option, I do not support the Overwolf lock-out simply because they want everyone to use their app. If monetization is a priority, I suggest using wago.io as addon hosting, as it allows for monetization of addons, also while using WowUp; which shows they're willing to find solutions, rather than the Overwolf approach of refusing to cooperate.
I don't mind anyone hosting their addons on CurseForge, but please, please, please host it outside of CurseForge as well, for those of us who would like to cut ties with CurseForge, but still use your amazing addon โค๏ธ
Please host on atleast wago.io so you can monetize your amazing addon, and also so we don't have to manually download from curseforge to avoid Overwolf ( in which case there is no revenue when done that way :( )
I came here to saw the same thing. Overwolf is a shiny spyware seller, and while you may be able to afford a cup of coffee on their dime, I wouldn't rely on that without some sort of actual contract. wago is much clearer on how profits are shared.
How has this not been addressed yet? Just create a Patreon like Adam if you're that hard pressed for revenue.
addon developers get far, far more money from being on curse, then they do from Patreon/Donations.
Wago does revenue sharing, with less ambiguity over what your share is as well. And iirc curse doesn't count downloads from the website as part of it, which is what I'll do with an adblocker, if the 3rd party api is cut off.
Hey guys, thank you for letting know that there's people that care about my addons being hosted on other places other than Curseforge. I can ensure I'll be looking into alternatives very soon.
It seems that Curse may have finally pulled the handle, and shut down their API (or it's just broken right now). Any status on hosting this elsewhere? Would love to be able to update my Details addon โค๏ธ
Any news on this? Would really like to see this somewhere other than Curse. Thank you.
Overwolf seems to have finally flipped the switch on the old API and as such this seems like it'll be in more and more demand in the next couple of days. Any updates on your thoughts and opinions on alternatives?
I believe BigWigs has a packager that works with GitHub actions and can publish to both curse and wago as well as provide the kind of .zip wowup would expect in a release on GitHub to pull directly from here.
https://wowup.io/guide/wowup/hub This also has some more information about what's supported there, and you could setup GitHub funding and have those show in-app next to the add-on for people to see and use.
Plater has already set this up, so I think it's just a matter of someone doing the work. The authors might be busy and perhaps would welcome a PR.
Wago addons sounds like the best options where people using wowup can snatch it from there and it supports monetization as well. I for one am using the wago app and would welcome being able to update directly from the app itself.
Cheers!
Hello guys!
Thank you for coming here and place an opinion on the matter.
I've recently posted on discord my position, this is a link that goes directly to it:

Just FYI ... if you're not already on the Details! discord, that link seems to stall. So you might need to join first https://discord.gg/AGSzAZX
Thank you for reassuring us that you're almost certainly going to be hosting in an alternative location as well - in the meantime of course the version that we have should still continue to work. Looking forward to seeing new updates!
very soon.

Some of us aren't on discord. Can you post the position here?
#309 (comment) has a solution.
