When zooming in and out, the 'adjust shoulder offset' maths is based off the zoom level that the zoom starts at, rather than where the zoom ends. This is noticeable when you have a slow zoom level and you try to zoom all the way in - the adjustment doesn't take place until you do a zoom when you're within the offset range.
