I just found myself using Global Search often for the same things, e.g., /afk, Hearthstone, Katy's Stampwhistle.
So I wondered if it makes sense to pin items so that they always appear, e.g., either at the top of the history list, or maybe above the search bar?
Maybe we could manage them (what is shown and their order) in a tab/panel in the options?

Hm, not sure about this one. My first thought is that something like OPie is more suited to this, and if I were to add pins to GlobalSearch, that feature would end up just being a worse version of OPie.

The only thing I can think of that would fit with the purpose of the addon is to have, in addition to the normal global search, separate search keybinds for configurable ordered subsets of items. I'm not sure that's worthwhile though.

If you have any ideas for what could make this an improvement over alternative addons, please let me know.

Hm, you are probably right; it's probably faster or more convenient to just type things out instead of navigating to them.

Using OPie is somewhat different though, as that requires you to set up a ring beforehand (or manage it via the options), and then navigating the rings accordingly.
With GlobalSearch it is more fluent to just open the search box and then type away (or navigate the history).

I would compare this to Spotlight/Raycast/Alfred and the Dock in macOS, or Everything and the Start Menu in Windows, if that makes sense 😄
