Seeing <-> symbols and the message appearing twice under 1.5.1

From four_paws:
We have had GreenWall running for a month or so, no problem (1.4.1). However, since 6..0.2 went live and we updated to GW 1.5.1 we are seeing <-> symbols and the message appearing twice. On the confederation guild we are not seeing the guild short name, but <-> instead but one copy of message.
Is this a problem with 1.5.1 or has the configuration changed. The old version is no-longer on the web to download for experimenting... my instinct is that 1.4.1 is ok?
This is seen by Rufty-Ghostlands, both Rufty-Ghostlands and Jeroennie-Dragonblight are in the same guild on Ghostlands.

If the configuration in the guild info tab doesn't have the guild names fully qualified, or if one of them is misspelled, you'll see some duplicate messages and messages tagged with <->.
Without knowing what is in your configuration and seeing examples of the messages in the log, I can't confirm whether that's what is happening in your case.
Ah, I gotcha. They are not fully qualified in the configuration.
Feel free to delete my comments from this issue, if you desire.
Actually, having them here is a good thing. We only figured out the issue last night.
Getting a similar oddity in my guild. Missanthropie
is in the shared guild, and with roster
on, every time they signon I get a 'signon/signoff/signon' message. This applies to anyone that signs on from the other guild.
If this is a separate issue let me know and I'll create a separate bug report. Log posted below:

Does the configuration use fully qualified names (i.e. Subreddit-Sargeras instead of Subreddit)?
We added the fully-qualified guild name to our config, yet the repeat message problem persists from this comment.
I've pasted the config here:
GW:c:REDACTED:REDACTED
GW:p:reddit-Sargeras:RG
GW:p:Subreddit-Sargeras:sRG
It looks like the issue with the messages for Missanthropi above are for a different issue.
I can't tell why the player is having trouble with the channel, but there is a change that's needed to prevent the messages.
I and several guildies in Wyrmfoe-Icecrown have also been getting the repeating sentence issue since the pre-patch however it's occasionally random on who it happens to and only with toons on merged servers. For instance; if I'm on any of my Icecrown characters which also happens to be the original server the guild was created on we have no issues. However, when I'm on any of my Malygos characters within the same guild I/they see double sentences. It doesn't always happen with the same toons. For instance a few nights ago I was on a character and saw certain people double and others not. The next night several of those same characters were NOT doubled and others were. Mine doubled both nights(on the same characters as the previous night) but on occasion doesn't do it. I do notice that sometimes the names fully qualify and sometimes they don't. Example:
[Headache] has come online
Insert random sentence here <--this could be someone in trade, an environment/area/npc statement, achievement announcement, guild chat, etc.
[Headache-Ice] has come online
This(the repeating) also occurs with guild chat/green text itself. I'll have to watch the text and see if the guild name qualifies but I don't recollect it doing so.
I wish I could be more helpful but I'm coding/script illiterate. I don't get any error messages. I do use other addons but use the same ones all the time depending on the character. I don't raid so that doesn't change.
This sounds like one of the guilds doesn't have fully qualified guild names in the configuration.
Thank you, I got ahold of the people who set it up and Malygos wasn't qualified. It's working now.
The names are case-sensitive and the name of the other guild appears to be Like A Boss-Kil'Jaeden.
Hi, I'm trying to connect two guilds on the same server. One guild(DoW) the gchat is working as intended, but the other guild(LaB) I'm seeing the double message problem only from other member of LaB, but DoW is fine.
