[BUG] About tab takes FOREVER to load

🔵 Describe the bug:

The about tab in the GSE options take forever ( like 10s ) to load and pulses 100% CPU until loaded.

🔵 To reproduce: (Steps to reproduce the behavior)

ESC -> Options -> Addons -> GSE - About

🔵 Desktop (please complete the following information):

  • OS: Linux Tumbleweed - 560 NVidia drivers - Wayland
  • Wow retail - ELVUI

🔵 GSE Version:

  • Version: 3.2.14-a
  • Downloaded From: WoWup - CF

🔵 Additional context:

This also makes the wow ui ( not client ) crash into 50000 lue errors until reloaded. The about window shows up fine tho.

And after a reload the client is fine again as well .. until you hit about again.

A fix for this is on wago/curseforge as alpha GSE-3.2.14-a-2-g904436d This should be significantly improved. It will be part of the 3.2.15 release.

It’s an issue with Ace3 (shared library which the UI is written with) not coping with the patron list. I need to rewrite the options list without Ace3 and use the new Verticle Layout to solve this (https://warcraft.wiki.gg/wiki/Patch_10.0.0/API_changes#Vertical_Layout)
