Keybinds being used Globally by GSE
Closed this issue · 7 comments
🔵 Describe the bug:
Keybinds from other characters / classes being used globally if not speifcially keybound in GSE
🔵 To reproduce: (Steps to reproduce the behavior)
Normally I have 1 Keybind for my SpamKey and 1 for every MODKEY [combination of], but since the release of the SBA I have rolled back to 1 Keybind as all ModKeys are set in the 1 GSE Sequence
- What's happening is when I log onto Character A - I Re-Keybind my MainKey and Delete any other Keybinds then hit Reload and/or Start
- Everything works fine until I log onto Character B with its own Keybinds - they are then loaded and seem to be global instead of character specific because
- When I log back onto Character A GSE is using the Keybinds from Character B unless a Specific Keybind is overwritten by a saved Keybind on Character A [IE:MainKey]
- To Fix this I have to use the default UI Keybinding system and Make a new Keybind then delete it (this forces GSE to clear the GSE Keybinding, see attached)
I'm not sure if this can be fixed or not it just seems off from what I have seen in behavior in the past from the GSE Addon / No error is produced
🔵 Screenshots:
🔵 Expected behavior:
Keybinds if possible should be character/class specific in GSE by default
🔵 Desktop (please complete the following information):
- Windows 10 64bit
- Game Version: Retail
🔵 GSE Version:
- GSE v3.2.31-4-g00f9767-PatronBuild

This isn’t a bug it’s just how it is. Wow caches your keybinds. GSE asks wow to save things char specific but WoW does what it wants.
An alternative solution was proposed on the GSE discord but the response was don’t change it.
The alternative is to use Actionbar overrides instead of Keybinds which doesn’t have this issue.
What MultiBar would be F-Keys in ActionBar Overrides ...
Assign F-Key to a bar > Bind that Button - I'm guessing
Is there a List of what these Multibars are related too?
NM - I'll just make 6 GSE Binds in the same fashion they they are all override by whatever character I'm on

That’s what the command /fstack is for - details on how to use that is on the a keybinding page on the wiki.
