Still can not modify and save an old or make a new macro

I still have the same issues. I can not make a new macro and save it because it does not save and if I try toi edit an existing one and save it just will not work

Hi Despised,

Can you please try this.

exit WoW
go to the WTF/Account/YourAccountName/SavedVariables folder within WoW in Explorer or Finder
Rename the GSE.lua file to GSse.lua.old
restart WoW

Can you then see if you can import and edit. The reason for the rename is that it will back up your existing macros without loosing them as when you start WoW it will create this file from scratch.

If you are able to import and save it means you had a corrupt macro within your old set and this has prevented the actions you are trying to complete.

(You could also before you do this export the macros you wish to keep to notepad first and then reimport them).

Of note is that old macros created before 8.0 will in most cases be incompatible and need significant changes and modifications to run.

What have you tried to resolve this? The amount of information you have given me is “I have a broken lawnmower. What is wrong with it?” The challenge for me is that every other lawnmower appears to be working except yours so I just can’t go look at another one for what is wrong. TimothyLuke
