GSE Missing Icons and Desapearing from Game Macros Interface

Started this morning when I noticed my 2 GSE Macros disappeared from my Bar. Hit /m and none of my GSE macros were there. Hit /GSE and thankfully, all the macros were there, however ALL without icons created. Recreated all the Macros icons and everything was fine until minutes ago when all disappeared again after I logout and login back. I really don't know if this is an issue related to GSE or any other addon but the true is that I did not installed any new addon in the last few days.

One thing that also happened is that out of nowhere I got a message from GSE in a small window with a link saying I wasn't using the latest version of GSE which by the way, I was (latest release v2.5.11) however after all that , I decided to go ahead and install the latest alpha (2.6.01-alpha10-shadowlands).

Just recreated all the icons for all the macros AGAIN and will update this post tomorrow.

Thanks Tim and that's exactly what I was doing until this morning when the issue above happened. Just reinstalled 2.5.11 and will let you know how it goes. But why did I got the message saying my GSE was outdated?

Because someone else in your group/raid is running the Shadowlands alpha. I need to get the version check to ignore alphas. TimothyLuke

If you are playing BFA on would stay on 2.5.11. The 2.6.0 stuff is specific to SL and may have unexpected outcomes on BFA — TL

I have no such issue on retail with latest alpha build from twitch.

Issue happened again. All good because I had a backup. After last time, I decided to make weekly backups since I don't mess around with macros every day.

But the reason I'm here again is to ask you something. As per your recommendation I'm still using v2.5.11 Game version 8.3.0 however yesterday when the issued happened (All GSE macros lose their icons) Twitch was showing v2.5.11 but GAME VERSION 9.01. I should had take a screenshot but I did not so you will have to rely on my words :-) This morning after fixing a few of the icons Twitch is now showing again v2.5.11 Game version 8.3.0. Any recommendation?

Yep Twitch is being weird and playing around. I would turn off auto updating if you have it on and manually update when prepatch hits on the 13th. Twitch is also disappearing soon as they sold Curseforge so hopefully our new mod overlords will be better. TimothyLuke

Hey Tim,

Thanks for the reply and I'm sorry for the delay replying you :-) Let me take the opportunity to ask you something. Do you know any good Macro Addon like Macro Toolkit that goes along with GSE? I saw I know one called Mega Macro but the owner says it's unlikely that works with GSE so I'm afraid to use it. You may say I don't need it since by using GSE usually don't go over the chars limit but I would like a better Marco UI to be honest. Thanks again :-)

Every other tool just makes the ingame macro accept more characters. None of these will do what GSE does. TimothyLuke

On my list is to build a better editing UI for GSE but unfortunately I haven’t seen another decent macro editor for WoW TimothyLuke
