im using tbc clASSIC - installed the latest bcc version of the addon.

on MOST of my characters, it works jnust fine, but only on my pal;adin, it wont open up at all - typing /gse or /gs in chat does nothing.

ive gone into my wtf folder and completely erased everything for this character and it still doesnt work.

i should also add that prior to updating my elvui interface no character worked, but now its still only the paladin and even with everything (elvui also) turned off, it still wont work..

play a paladin, try to open gse. fail

error=nothing happening. helll, the chat editor doesnt even close when i hit enter, just stays on /gse as if i didnt hit enter

win 10 pc

currently doiwngraded to 2.6 because some said that helped, but it diodnt. effects all versions

MAte you have no Macros stored in the SavedVariables GSE.lua file.

You cant open what doesn't exist.:

GSE3Storage = {
	{
	}, -- [1]
	{
	}, -- [2]
	{
	}, -- [3]
	{
	}, -- [4]
	{
	}, -- [5]
	{

	{
	}, -- [7]
	{

	{

	{
	}, -- [10]
	{
	}, -- [11]
	{
	}, -- [12]
	[0] = {
	},
}

You step 2 action deleted every macro you had installed.

True, but despite that, the addon doesn't work as before. Even if now I've copied the original file (the one with my macros) where it was before. I'm not using the default/clean one.

Here's the original file with the macros

GSE.zip

What makes me think this, is the fact that even the GSE options cannot be brought up by the /gse command in chat, and that the TitanBar plugin doesn't do anything while hovering on it, like worked before.

I don't know what's causing this tbh

commented

Can yo ubring up the Options via Escape?

If so try this: Esc - Interface - GSE Options - "Fix Setbackdrop"

commented

Try turning that on

Try turning that on

The addon is not listed anymore under the Interface>Addons panel and so I can't access the options in any way possible.

I made a lvl 1 character on purpose with just GSE enabled and the issue is still there.

commented

Here are the screenshots I made with the lvl 1 character.
I can bring up the SequenceEditor with Left Mouse Click throught the GSE TitanBar plugin, but clicking "New" or "Options" does nothing.

Mate If I load your file I get:

If I hit options I get:

If I disable all and just load GSE I get:

I have a feeling you have downloaded the wrong version of GSE . By that I mean you need a version BUILT for BC Classic. Your version number should say 3.0.28**-bcc** not 3.0.28 Sorry I should have picked that up earlier. THe Releases here have about 5 files two versions of the source code, A Vanilla Classic, A Retail and a BC Classic

commented

A quick clue to this is if the c:\path\to\wow\_classic_\Interface\Addons\GSE\Lib folder is empty you have a source code copy but not a built copy.

I'm a bit lost now, I'm playing on a Classic Era realm though. So what version should I get then?
I downloaded mine from the Curseforge client, but if that's wrong I can just manually install the right one as I was used to before.

Then it should be 3.0.28-classic

I dont know why then it works on my PC but on yours it doesn't - there's got to be something causing that. I have tried your GSE.lua file in both Classic and BC Classic and get a normal working GSE with your macros (They are all in the file BTW)

I wonder if an errors being thrown but your normal UI has set a setting to hide errors and as such when you drop everything out its not being shown?

I don't have a clue either at this point. Worst case scanario I'll try to do another clean reinstall.

checking now

You were right, I had the AdvancedInterfaceOptions addon disabled but the "Display Lua Errors" setting was ticked off.
By straight affecting the console, it was hiding all the errors.

I have the same issue on any character too [Win7 Ultimate 64x, administrator account].
I'm playing on Classic Era realms, not TBC.

Just to point out what I did to trigger it:

  1. deleted the addon folders [GSE / GSE_GUI / GSE_LDB]

  2. deleted the GSE.lua settings (and GSE.lua.bak) stored in:
    H:\World of Warcraft_classic_era_\WTF\Account\ACCOUNT NUMBER\SavedVariables

  3. deleted also the GSE.lua ones stored in:
    H:\World of Warcraft_classic_era_\WTF\Account\ACCOUNT_NUMBER\REALM_NAME\CHARACTER_NAME\SavedVariables

  4. deleted the Cache folder under H:\World of Warcraft_classic_era_

  5. downloaded the latest GSE release version [GSE-3.0.28-classic.zip]

  6. logged in and noticed how the addon is loaded but isn't listed anymore in the Addons' Interface panel window and that the /GSE command in the chat does nothing.

  7. Hovering on the TitanPanel GSE icon does nothing.
    The only things that work are:

  • Mouse Left Click opens up the SequenceEditor
  • Right Click opens up the SequenceDebugger
  1. logged out to let the game recreate again the default settings files.
  2. uploaded here the GSE.lua located in H:\World of Warcraft_classic_era_\WTF\Account\ACCOUNT NUMBER\SavedVariables and the one located in H:\World of Warcraft_classic_era_\WTF\Account\ACCOUNT_NUMBER\REALM_NAME\CHARACTER_NAME\SavedVariables

GSE [Character_Variables].zip
GSE [SavedVariables].zip

GSE loaded
GSE not listed in the Addons' Interface
Left Click = SequenceEditor - Right Click = SequenceDebugger

not sure if this is the same issue as i'm experiencing. it sounds like it...

i just installed WoW classic and a few addons. GSE will not allow me to create a new macro as the New button does show the dialog, it doesn't do anything. Also, if i Import a macro, it completes but doesn't show the macro in the list and from this point on, GSE no longer works, I cannot open the interface via the minimap icon or /gse... If i delete the gse.lua (config which includes the imported macro) and logout it works but still at the same state of not being able to import or create a macro.

i did some troubleshooting and found this:

  • GSE 3.0.07 is the last version that is able to use the New button). However, the interface for the New macro is blank / no input fields (New or 1 tab). I see that the changelog for 3.0.08 mentions ELVUI, so it must be a conflict
  • when ElVUI (TBC) is disabled, GSE 3.0.28 (3.0.08+) works for creating a New macro and Import. It works perfectly fine as long as ELvui is disabled
  • for sure this is a conflict between ELvui and GSE
    -used /reload when replacing GSE addon files (no need to logout/restart)

What can we do to make GSE 3.0.28 work with ElVui Classic TBC v2.10?

sorry if the issue is not the same... I really appreciate your help, GSE and ELvui are my most important addons :)
