When there are multiple objectives, positions for each objective are not shown at all otherwise.
Also when there is only one objective, showing the icon does not hurt as the arrow icon will be drawn over it at the same position anyway, and once it disappears (when the position has been reached) it is a good idea to still show the objective icon (until the objective is completed).
